Hydro donated 250,000 syringes and needles to support the application of vaccines against Covid-19 in the State of Pará. With this donation, the company hopes to contribute to the State's efforts to combat the pandemic. The donation was made to the State Secretariat for Public Health (Sespa) and the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Mining and Energy (Sedeme).

Since 2020, Hydro has allocated more than BRL 20 million to the prevention and fight against the pandemic in Pará and particularly in the municipalities where it operates. The donations were made in the acquisition of medical and hospital equipment and utensils, donation of rapid tests to detect the disease, among others. In addition to a total of 45 thousand food baskets destined for the population in a vulnerable condition.

“At this time of great challenges, it is important that we come together to help the most relevant initiatives for the population. Therefore, we continue to support the authorities and communities. As good neighbors, we maintain an open dialogue to identify demands and we seek to collaborate in the fight against Covid”, says Anderson Baranov, vice president of Government Relations at Hydro.
