Hydro's Supplies team was awarded in three categories of the IX Development Networks Award 2022, on October 20, during the XV Pará Industry Fair (FIPA, in portuguese). The award is one of the largest in the industrial segment and recognizes the companies that most moved the economy in terms of local purchases, in total volume or in percentage terms of local suppliers. In addition, it recognizes procurement professionals for their performance and professionalism.

Hydro won the 2020/2021 Supplier Development Case, through work developed with the company Tamadil Autopeças. According to Tammy Costa, Senior Supplier Development Analyst at Hydro, “the importance of winning the case shows how we contribute to local development. The award materializes all the work we have with the supplier in a robust and continuous way”.

The company also took 1st place in the 2021 Buyer of the Year Category, with Bruno Fernandez, Senior Buyer. “We are pleased that this Award came to us, it is something very important for our entire team, and it shows that we work in a very united way and following the value of Collaboration”, analyzes Bruno.

Hydro's Director of Supplies, Silvio Ferraioli, received the Absolutus Category award, winning 2nd place. This category honors the three supporting industries that bought the most in total investment volume. “This moment means recognition for the entire Procurement team and especially the good interaction we have with FIEPA, with industries in Pará and local suppliers, showing that for Supplies the fact that we are a good neighbor is extremely important”, pointed out Ferraioli.

Held by REDES – Innovation and Economic Sustainability and the Federation of Industries of the State of Pará System (FIEPA, in portuguese) the award has been given since 2011 with the aim of rewarding companies for their efforts to move the Pará economy. The award categories are: Absolutus (amount of purchases in Pará), Percentum (percentage of purchases considering the volume of the year), Purchasing Professional of the Year and Supplier Development Case.

Development - Since 2017, Hydro has been working with several local supplier development initiatives. In 2019, the Local Supplier Development Program was expanded to include companies in Barcarena, Paragominas and the Belém Metropolitan Region. The objective was to encourage local suppliers through technical training, practices and applied assessments, generating improvements in their performance and fostering new business opportunities in large projects installed in the state.

Awards – In 2020, in the last edition, Hydro won three awards, being the winner with the “Innovation Case”, through a partnership between the Company and the startup Amachains, which resulted in the development of an innovative project in the operation of bauxite and alumina of the Company; 2nd place in the “Absolutus” category, which evaluated the volume of purchases in 2019; and in 2nd place in the “Buyer of the Year” category, nominated for three consecutive years.
