Meet Katrin: Head of Internal Service at the extrusion plant Offenburg
Katrin Grampp has been with Hydro Extrusions in Offenburg for 27 years. In 1994 she started her apprenticeship as an industrial clerk here and since 2007 she has taken over the complete management of the office.
You decided on the professional field of sales at an early stage. What is it about this department that attracts you?
I am a very communicative person and enjoy working with people. I enjoy the contact with customers, with internal employees and with the sales representatives. During my apprenticeship, I quickly realized that sales was my favorite (even if I liked the figures in accounting)!
You are now in charge of the sales office. What is your day-to-day work like?
I meet with the planning department early in the morning to agree on delivery times and capacities. If there are deviations, you have to react quickly and the corresponding delivery times have to be adjusted.
I also work on important and urgent orders that need to be brought forward.
I support and motivate my team and am always at their side if they have any questions.
It is important to me to look after a few customers myself in order to keep a connection to the processes and the processing steps - so I can better understand my team, motivate them and of course support them on a daily basis.
Every day is different - reactivity and flexibility are the keys to success!
What distinguishes you as a team?
We are ONE team. The friendliness of the Offenburg team shines through the phone so that the customer can feel the smile of the employee. Our well-trained employees work in a customer-oriented manner and do everything they can for the customer. A solution-oriented way of working in order to find the most justifiable solution possible for the customer.
What motivates you to come to work every morning?
To satisfy our customers. Because a happy and satisfied customer is a customer who comes back - and brings in new orders.
