While the & nbsp; parabolic mirrors concentrate the sun's rays, it is the supporting metal architecture with in particular skeletons, frames and arches that ensures the alignment of the reflectors and which offers & nbsp; stability so that the system can withstand the loads of wind and weather.
These factors have a direct impact on the efficiency of the plant - and thus also on the result calculations of the power plant operators.
The market for concentrated solar power solutions - like the "Desertec" concept currently being discussed in Germany for a power plant in the Sahara - has grown almost explosively in the USA. Interest in this type of power plant is growing worldwide.

Hydro's English White Paper is titled "Seeing the Light: The Use of Aluminum Support Structures in Concentrated Solar Power Energy Generating Facilities.” There is a detailed overview of the variety and benefits of aluminum profile solutions.
The main advantages are:
- precise workability for a particularly favorable power-to-weight ratio
- good support in reducing the number of components with a high proportion of recycled material
- low costs for transport and assembly
- quick assembly with accurate alignment and mobility in the system field
- full & nbsp; recyclability at the end & nbsp; of the useful life
