Hydro supplies aluminum strips from its Hamburg rolling mill to ElringKlinger, which are further processed in several stages and are ultimately used as a transmission intermediate plate in many automatic vehicle types from brands such as BMW, Ford, Audi and Jaguar.
Sales and growth played a role here: The business of both companies in this product segment increased significantly over the years and is expected to increase by around 50 percent in 2013 compared to 2011. The decisive criteria were delivery quality and delivery reliability as well as service. This includes certification in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO / TS 16949 and follow-up on complaints.
"We are very pleased about this honor, because ElringKlinger is a very well respected automotive supplier and he honors a really good partnership working on a demanding product. As a finished sheet, it has to be very flat and meet very high demands on roughness and cleanliness on the surface, ”says Franz Steimmel, Head of the Automotive & amp; Heat exchanger.
