In the short term, eight additional jobs will be created in Grevenbroich, Neuss and Hamburg. "We are doing our part to open up career prospects in our industry for refugees who have come to Germany from great need," says HR Manager Joachim Deppe.

The Hydro-Walzwerk Hamburg had already employed an intern from Syria in July and August. This refugee is a qualified electrical engineer; it took a lot of talks and forms to get the necessary permits for his internship.

Hydro will advance the campaign as soon as possible in close cooperation with the local authorities, chambers of industry and employers' associations. Deppe: "We are ready to hire the first people with us at short notice as soon as the outstanding practical regulations have been clarified with the authorities."
