Hycast was established in 1990 by Hydro Aluminium as a spinoff from Hydro's research and development division.

Hycast's main role is to manage and secure Hydro's leading position in aluminium melt refining and casting technology. It also provides its services to other clients in the market. Hycast offers complete casthouse solutions that provide cost-effective processes and high-quality end products to its clients.
