Did you know…
An estimated 75% of all aluminium ever produced is still in use today. Whether it is old windows, wheels or beverage cans, recycling aluminium requires just 5% of the energy needed to produce primary aluminium.
Hydro Aluminium Wrexham is based at the Wrexham Industrial Estate in North Wales. We produce up to 63,000 tonnes per year of high quality extrusion ingots (billets), recycling a mix of end of life scrap and process scrap. We can offer a variety of alloys including 6060, 6063, 6005 and 6082, produced in 152, 178, 203 and 228mm diameters. The Wrexham site uses Wagstaff AirSlip casting technology with inline filtration to cast billets vertically up to 7 metres in length. After heat treatment in a continuous homogenising process, billets are cut to length as required by the customer – we can supply sizes from 470 to 7000mm.
In addition to standard billets, we can offer Hydro’s new low carbon brand Hydro CIRCAL 75R, minimising the carbon footprint of our products and maximising opportunities for our customers. The CIRCAL production process is fully traceable and the product is certified by an independent third party.
Hydro Aluminium Deeside Wrexham is certified to the international standards for quality, health and safety, environmental and energy management (ISO 9001, 45001, 14001 and 50001). In addition, we are certified to the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative performance standard, which recognises the responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium.
