Hydro is already a world leader in low carbon aluminium production, but we are aiming to get even better. By 2030, we will have developed technology that gives us zero-emission aluminium on an industrial scale and we will reach net zero emissions in the production of all aluminium by 2050 or earlier. Aluminium is lightweight and 100 percent recyclable, making it an important building block in the green transition. The demand for aluminium increases - for everything from building solar panels, wind turbines to electric cars and more energy-efficient buildings.
Safety and sustainability are interrelated
Hydro has safety at the top of our agenda every day. Safe work is important for our employees’ health, but it also contributes to stable and sustainable operations. We have good results on safety but we want to further strengthen the professional environment and support for operations. That is why we employ several supervisors at our smelters in Karmøy, Husnes, Høyanger, Årdal, Sunndal and at our head office in Oslo. We are looking for both newly qualified technologists and candidates with longer safety experience or who have worked on improvement.
