Sustainability reporting

Hydro’s sustainability reporting aims to give valuable insight in our approach on environment, social and governance (ESG) topics to people, organizations and authorities who are interested in learning more about our operations around the world.

Transparency is the fundament of Hydro's reporting.

The aim of Hydro’s sustainability – or ESG – reporting is to ensure accountability and transparency on our opportunities and challenges related to sustainable development.

Through our reporting, we communicate our performance and impacts on a wide range of sustainability topics, notably:

  • Environment and climate change
  • Social
  • Governance

Our reporting is based on the GRI Standards for Sustainability reporting including a materiality assessment. The reporting is also based on a number of reporting frameworks and standards, such as UN Global Compact, International Council of Mining and Metals 10 principles, and UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We have an integrated approach to our reporting, and you can read more about our reporting approach and what we are basing it on in Hydro’s annual reports.
