Few metals can surpass the strength, durability and flexibility of aluminum. Second only to copper in conductivity, aluminum resists oxidation, corrosion and rust, conducts heat well, is non-sparking and non-magnetic. Some alloys are nearly as strong as medium-grade steel, but lighter in weight and less expensive.

Aluminum Applications:

From beer cans to space station parts, aluminum can be extruded into a countless number of profiles for use in virtually every industry, for example:

  • Automotive:
Aluminum and steel are the most-utilized material in cars and trucks, and the shift from steel to aluminum is growing rapidly, primarily for the way aluminum increases vehicle performance, boosts fuel economy and reduces emissions. Aluminum also absorbs two times the crash energy as steel of equal weight. Body panels can be thicker but lighter than steel, and provide better dent resistance.
  • Building & Construction:
Aluminum extrusions are indispensable in window and door frames, wall panels, roofing, fences, braided coaxial cable and wire housings. electrical fittings, couplings and valves, oil and gas drilling tubing and fittings, wide-span roof structures for bridge decks and arenas, heat exchangers, air coolers, heat-sinks, water, air and hydraulic piping and tubing, and many other applications. Aluminum is becoming an important material in the rebuilding of thousands of concrete and steel-reinforced bridge decks around the world.
  • Renewable Energy:
Hydro Extrusion is a major supplier for the next generation of energy capture and conservation systems. We provide critical components to harness the Earth’s most abundant sources of renewable energy, taking advantage of aluminum’s unique properties - light weight, high strength, recyclability, natural corrosion resistance and ease of fabrication.
