Aluminum railing systems offer high-quality architectural enhancement for single-family homes, small office buildings, low rise, garden-type condos and hotels. Common uses include entryways, deck and patio railings. They are also ideal for commercial applications, such as for high-rise balconies, decks, stairs, swimming pools surrounds, and as guard rails.
Residential railing systems complement any architectural style, from traditional to contemporary, and enhance a home’s design. A wide variety of finishes and colors are available when anodizing and painting. Baked-on enamel finishes are available in standard & custom colors. The aluminum handrails from Hydro Extrusion consist of high quality extruded framing members, engineered to be simple and flexible. They are designed to be installed quickly on the job site for nearly any application.
In the case of commercial applications, railings are constructed with aluminum extrusions designed to the desired specifications. The extruded framing members are generally based on standardized components that are fabricated and shipped in pre-assembled sections. This reduces installation time substantially. Custom shapes and styles are also available based on specific engineering and architectural requirements.
Aluminum railing systems are:
Unlike wood railings, aluminum will never split, rot, or warp due to environmental influences like rain, snow and UV rays. They do not need to be refinished or replaced, and require no scraping, sanding, painting or staining to maintain them. They are strong, non-corrosive and rust-free.
- Attractive and versatile.
Standard and custom colors are available with anodized or baked-on enamel finishing. They can be powder-coated for rust-resistance. A variety of patterns, designs and configurations enable them to blend with surrounding architecture. Commercial Class One clean and bronze anodizing is also available.
Aluminum railing systems are strong, durable, and rust and corrosion free. The material is lightweight, providing for easy installation. They require little maintenance and are long-lasting, making them a practical, sound and cost-effective investment.
Aluminum is ideal for cold-weather applications because cold temperatures make it stronger; however, it conducts heat well, so it will remain cool to the touch even in high temperatures. Railing openings are typically less than 4” and conform to the requirements of the Uniform Commercial Building Code, AASHTO, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
