Our Hydro plants are ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified and is equipped with cutting-edge manufacturing machinery, a highly skilled staff, and the experience necessary to manage any product. Alloy expertise includes 6005, 6060, 6061, 6063, 6101, and 6105, in standard and special tempers. Fabrication capabilities include light assembly, cut-to-length, miter cuts, punching, stamping, notching, drilling, and CNC machining. Its specialties include cut-to-length tolerances for wide cross section shapes, T6 mechanical properties that allow customers to bend after aging, fill & debridge, full water quenching for heavy 6061 T1 shapes, and knurling for non-skid floor systems.

Choosing an Aluminum Alloy

Choosing the appropriate alloy for your project is crucial. Some alloys extrude at a faster rate, some are easier to bend, and some are more easily machined than others. The majority of our alloys are within the 6000 series. We also create custom alloys for customers. Our team of experts will assist you in determining the correct alloy for your product.

6061 alloy
This magnesium and silicon alloy is the best choice when components need to be welded or brazed. It is structurally strong and tough, has good corrosion resistance and good machining characteristics. Its appearance after anodization is excellent. 6061 is used extensively as a construction material, most commonly in the manufacture of marine and automotive components.

6063 alloy
This popular magnesium and silicon alloy is a heat treatable alloy. It has a finer grain structure than 6061 and will have the best cosmetic appearance after anodizing. It is highly corrosion resistant with good workability and weldability. Common uses include cylinder tubing, electrical bus conductor, and architectural applications.
