Aluminium’s superior properties concerning pliability, light weight and strength makes it the perfect material for almost any design challenge, big or small. Here’s a quick overview of how we use aluminium in different product areas, each catering to different needs.
Aluminium alloys
An aluminium alloy is a mixture of aluminium and one or more metals, made to enhance the material properties for specific purposes such as strength, brilliance or formability. The most common elements used in aluminium alloys are magnesium, silicon, manganese, zinc and copper.
Extruded products
Aluminium is extremely malleable and can be formed into almost any shape. An extruded product is the result of heating an ingot of aluminium to 500°C and press it through a die shaped like the finished part or extrusion. With the right alloy and proper thermal treatment, extrusions offer endless application opportunities. This makes aluminium a product designer’s dream, because the limits to its use in general are set by the designer’s imagination.
Precision tubing
Precision tubing is an innovative source of aluminium solutions for a wide range of applications. It is often used to transfer heat from one location to another in motor vehicles, refrigerators and air conditioning, ventilation, solar power and heating systems. Aluminium tubes are also suitable for ladders, scaffolding, garden and camping equipment, aerials, roller blinds, telescopic shafts, conveyors and more.
Rolled products
Our flat-rolled aluminium products are high in strength and low in weight but vary in thickness. Our foils, strips, sheets and plates are suitable for everything from conserving food and medicines to building ships and automobiles.
Casthouse products
Our casthouse products, such as extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, foundry alloys, wire rods and high purity aluminium, are used in automotive, transport, buildings, heat transfer, electronics and aviation.
