Projects is a specialized and dedicated project organization in Hydro. Our main tasks are to develop and execute investments projects in a predictable and efficient way. We provide project management services to all Business Areas in Hydro cross-boarders.

To strengthen our project delivery within the compliance and commercial team we are looking for a Project control engineer/manager.  You will be part of a multi-disciplinary and diverse team and will collaborate with many parts of the organization.

Main responsibilities
The main responsibility for the position will be handling and leading project control activities (e.g. cost, schedule, change and reporting) in projects. 

  • Implement procedures, systems, tools and best practices   
  • Establish and maintain Manpower projection plan 
  • Cost control (e.g. WBS/CBS structure, cost phasing, monitoring, forecasting and reporting)
  • Scheduling, progress monitoring and reporting (incl. schedule risk analysis)
  • Change management and project reporting
  • Support/advice project management in project control activities
  • Cooperate across the project team and take an active role in the respective contract team 
  • Contribute to development and improvement of our work processes; procedures, best practices, methods and tools

Desired Qualifications 

  • Relevant degree on master- or bachelor level
  • Minimum 3-5  years of relevant experience, prefered from industrial companies and within investment projects
  • Solid experience in project control activites from investments projects/contracts
  • Experience in schedule risk analysis 
  • Fluent in written and oral English, and elementary proficiency in Norwegian or other scandinavian language
  • Expertise using professional project control tools (e.g. Excel, eRoom, SAP, PIMS, Safran, MS project)

The main responsibility for the position is to take electrical discipline responsibility in all phases of project development and execution. 

  • Develop basic design and technical specifications for electrical systems such as rectifiers, transformers and HV systems
  • Evaluate and develop electrical and control system design and participate in concept development and concept selection
  • Participate in management of engineering and construction and contribute to achieve the overall project objectives
  • Ensure that sustainability strategies are implemented in the project
  • Contribute with discipline knowledge to project planning, cost estimation and quality controls
  • Participate in procurement processes such as invitation to tender, tender evaluation, negotiations and contract management
  • Contribute to improvement of project management methods and tools through digitalization and simplification

  • Good understanding of project- and quality management principles, and experience with design reviews and constructability reviews

The main responsibility for the position is to ensure that project teams achieve first-class HSE performance at all levels and in all phases of a project. 

  • Take lead, support, motivate and advice project management on HSE related topics
  • Prepare HSE programs, plans and documentation for the assigned project

  • Follow-up contractors HSE standards and HSE performance on site in the execution phase

The main responsibility for the position will be handling of procurement activities along the whole procurement chain from preparation of procurement strategy and prequalification of suppliers to contract awards including administration of contracts. 

  • Cooperate across the project team and take an active role in the respective contract team
  • Establish contract strategies, market assessments, prequalification, preparation of invitation to tenders/enquiry documents 
  • Evaluate, negotiate and award contracts
  • Administration and follow-up of contracts
  • Review and advice project teams in contractual and commercial follow-up activities 
  • Contribute to development and improvement of our work processes; procedures, best practices, methods and tools
