Functional Specialist, ERP Operations (SAP)

Area of Responsibility

The role is responsible for the functional support of S/4Hana business application.
The major purpose of the role is to serve locations running S/4 as their ERP platform by:
o Issue resolution on incidents and problems for the live units in Hana
o Service and change requests management
o Ensures stable business process continuation and improvements
o Dedicated and high focused business support during period end closing
o Provides appropriate solutions upon Business Area requirements
o Design, configure, test and train business solutions in collaboration with solution team
o Participate in hyper care and take over location support from project team
o Provides application maintenance, 2nd and 3rd level production support services toward the supported live locations (customers) globally, according to the SLA’s agreed
o Proactive system improvement proposals and initiatives
o Preventive business process support
o Works closely with business support departments to translate business requirements into feasible solutions
o Close working relationship with technical, solution delivery, basis and authorization teams all involved in the different business support processes
o Understand and work according to the transport and release management process
o Comes up continuously with business and process related improvement ideas
o Provide and maintain process documentations like problem, incident and change management
o Work according to the best practises for support
o Perform daily tasks in the global ticketing system


Work Experience  3-5 years of experience in a comparable role within IT or Business
 Functional or technical related work experience with same/similar Business Applications
Industry Experience Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Education IT /Business Degree or Equivalent
Licensing/Certification Prince II Foundation is preferred
Functional Knowledge Solid understanding of the business processes related to the business application(s) concerned
Technical Knowledge Understanding of technical environment of the business application(s) concerned
Language Fluency in English (verbal and written)
People Management N/A
Project Management Knowledge of basic project management procedures within IT
Change Management Knowledge of basic change management procedures within IT
Production N/A
Customer Customer oriented through striving to understand business needs and through providing with appropriate solutions
Vendor Consult; Manage outsourced application services
