The Holsbru power plant is one of Hydro's newest and started production in 2012. At that time, the old Holsbru power station from 1943 had been closed since 2004.

The plant sits at the end of a six kilometer long water tunnel from the Rausdøla River and Holsbruvatnet. Holsbru generates electricity from a water drop of 692 meters and two Pelton turbines.
