The Frøystul power plant is the highest of the five plants making up what is known as the Rjukan string.

The current power plant was commissioned in 1995, while the old plant at Frøystul produced power from 1926. The Frøystul power plant uses a water drop of 62 meters from Møsvatn, Norway's third largest reservoir, and produces electricity from a Francis turbine.
