Changing the game together: Hydro’s Executive Leadership Team sets new ambitions for the 2030 Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging strategy

Hydro’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT) signed a new set of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB) ambitions to accelerate the 2030 DIB strategy.

The ELT participated in a three hour workshop, starting with reflective exercises to explore individual biases and privileges. These set the stage for a discussion on how to foster inclusive leadership across Hydro. The goal: To make all 140 Hydro sites more inclusive by 2030.

Each ELT member has developed concise and tangible DIB action plans to achieve these ambitions within their respective organizations. These include initiatives such as inclusive hiring practices, leadership representation, and internal communication and awareness, all key enablers of the DIB strategy which was established in March.

“Our DIB strategy is about more than representation, it’s about creating a culture where everyone feels like they belong and can thrive, regardless of background, and it starts with inclusive leadership,” says Nordh.

To formalize the commitment, the ELT signed a global set of DIB commitments:

We know that true progress happens when we embrace diversity, equity and inclusion to create a sense of belonging, empowering every individual to reach their full potential. Inclusive leadership and culture are key to our success, strengthening decision making, fueling innovation, and helping us drive meaningful change.

Guided by our core values of Care, Courage, and Collaboration, we commit to breaking down barriers and fostering a culture where everyone, regardless of their background and differences, feels heard, valued, and empowered.

A more inclusive Hydro is a stronger Hydro. By championing diversity and inclusive leadership, we can unlock new opportunities, accelerate value creation, and create industries that matter for generations to come.
