ENA Lab Capability

These improvement efforts include over $14 million in upgrades to testing equipment, the development and implementation of a custom quality software platform, and extensive qualification and training of our lab technicians at each of our extrusion facilities in North America.

To help ensure accuracy and integrity, our quality laboratories utilize state-of-the-art testing hardware from Zwick/Roell AG, a leading global supplier of material testing equipment. This hardware includes:

Zwick/Roell manual tensile testing machines

• Load capacity ranging from 100 kN - 250 kN
• Broad specimen shape and size capability
• Load Accuracy of Class 1 per ISO 7500-1 from 400 N and Class 0.5 from 2000 N and higher 
• Crosshead Positioning Accuracy of +/-  2 micrometers

Zwick/Roell cross section measurement machines

• High precision, automated caliper-based cross-section measurement station
• Enables precise measurement of test sample cross-section
• Actuated by compressed air
• Resolution of < 0.1 micrometer

Zwick/Roell automated tensile testing machines

• Load capacity up to 100 kN
• Automated unit with prepared sample magazine
• Load Accuracy of Class 1 per ISO 7500-1 from 200 N and Class 0.5 from 1,000 N and higher 
• Crosshead Positioning Accuracy of +/-  2 micrometers
• Automated bar code sample identification and indexing
