“We are very pleased that Malia will take on the position as plant manager here in Henderson. During her time with us she has displayed a strong commitment to the Hydro values of Care, Courage and Collaboration. She will provide the needed leadership to guide the current and future growth initiatives in a safe and efficient manner. Hydro Henderson is growing, and Sellers will be in a position to provide the needed leadership for success,” says Augustine. 

A native of Kentucky, Sellers joined Hydro Henderson in 2022 as Improvement Manager. She brings with her broad managerial experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Western Kentucky University and is certified as a Continuous Improvement Manager. 

In July 2022, Hydro announced a USD 15 million investment in a new homogenization furnace that will enable the plant to produce a greater volume of advanced alloys using recycled metals with a lower carbon footprint. 

“At Hydro we want to accelerate the green transformation of the aluminum and automotive industries by increasing our use of post-consumer scrap to pull more used material into the value chain and promote a circular economy. I am looking forward to taking up this very exciting position and to keep developing the plant, and working together with our team of highly skilled and dedicated employees to serve our customers in the best possible way,” says Sellers.  

Sellers will commence in her new role on March 16, 2024.
