The decision to close the remainder of the facility’s limited production follows the recently announced closure of the site’s primary customer. As a result of this closure, there is no longer sufficient demand for the Burlington site’s specialized products to support continued operations.
Although the timing of this change was unknown, it has been planned for several years. Over the past decade, Extrusion North America (ENA) has taken steps to consolidate Burlington’s general extrusion and electrical conduit operations into our other facilities and prepare the site for eventual sale.
Operations in Burlington will wind down in coordination with customer requirements and production is expected to cease by the end of third quarter of 2026, depending on customer demand. Hydro Burlington currently employs 15 people. Hydro will provide transitional support including assistance in applying for open positions at Hydro’s other locations in North America.
