Fatal accident at Slovalco

An operator at Slovalco, a primary aluminium production plant part-owned by Hydro, died on Thursday of the injuries incurred in a work-related accident earlier the same day.

The accident occurred in the potroom.

Management representatives from Hydro's business area Aluminium Metal are on their way to Slovalco. A preliminary investigation has been initiated by the plant management.

Hydro will send an independent investigation team to Slovalco on Monday morning.

Hydro holds 55.3 percent of the shares in the Slovalco aluminium plant, located in Ziar nad Hronom, Slovakia.
