The Hydro Sustainability Fund (FSH, in portuguese), the Mitsui Bussan do Brasil Foundation and the Peabiru Institute present the products launched during the third and fourth Business Development Cycles of the Tipitix project – Community Agrifood Entrepreneurship, an initiative to promote sustainable development solutions in the Amazon, on the 30th of May, starting at 5 pm, at the Loja da Mulher Empreendedora (SEICOMTEC), located at Avenida Francisco Vinagre, Quadra 234, 06, in Barcarena Headquarters.

In both cycles, 22 projects were chosen to start the journey of entrepreneurs, individual or in groups, who received support in technical assistance in adapting their business model; infrastructure for processing its production; support in design, credit and commercial advice to place the product and/or service on the market; as well as administrative and accounting support for procedures related to the formalization and management of the business.

Among the selected projects is the frozen jambu, by Carmem Gonçalves, from Vila dos Cabanos. “My product comes processed, frozen and ready for tasting. I am very happy to have been selected and managed to develop my product, including selling it in large supermarkets in Belém”, she says.

About Tipitix

The Tipitix program is carried out by the Hydro Sustainability Fund (FSH, in portuguese), the Mitsui Bussan do Brasil Foundation and the Peabiru Institute, focused on Community Agro-Food Entrepreneurship, aimed at promoting sustainable development solutions in the Amazon. FSH, a non-profit organization, was established in 2019 with the joint commitment of Hydro, Albras and Alunorte. In 2022 alone, the Fund invested BRL 5.5 million in projects and social actions.

Tipitix provides a processing space and a business unit in Barcarena that offers complete training for different entrepreneurs and social groups to access new markets. With an investment of BRL 1.5 million, in 2021, the program assisted 10 producers in the 1st cycle, having developed 14 products. In the 2nd business cycle, in 2022, it selected 10 projects. In the 3rd and 4th cycles, more than 20 family farmers from Barcarena were benefited, expanding sales beyond the locality itself. 

Among the products already launched on the market are: açaí and muruci jellies; topping for açaí, taperebá and cupuaçu ice cream; fruit draft beer cassava cheese bread; farofa; tapioca flour and gum; maniva; cooked jambu; annatto; fruit compote; Cocada; spices and chili sauce.
