The expansion project in Hydro Extrusion Navarra will increase the current 30,000 tons per year recycling capacity to 60,000 tons per year capacity of Hydro RESTORE, recycled aluminium with declaration of content and carbon footprint.

“We have seen increasing demand for aluminum the last months, and at the same time the interest in low carbon aluminium is growing stronger among our customers. I am happy that we now are investing in our low-carbon capabilities to meet this increasing demand", says Ana Vázquez, Vice President of Hydro Extrusions Spain and Portugal.

The expansion project includes installing a new melting furnace, a new skimming machine and a new homogenizer furnace. In addition, storage capacity of scrap metal for recycling will be expanded.

Hydro RESTORE, recycled aluminum with carbon footprint and composition statement

Hydro has recently launched Hydro RESTORE, a new brand of recycled aluminum that gives its customers total transparency in the aluminium content of the recycled aluminium produced.

This means the customer will know the share of pre-consumer metal coming from the extrusion process, as well as the share of post-consumer metal recovered at the end of the useful life.

Both are included in the final product declaration, also including the carbon footprint generated by the process.
