In solidarity with the families that were left homeless in the municipality of Ipixuna do Pará, in the northeast of the state, Hydro and Mineração Paragominas donated yesterday, 2, 850 basic baskets with food and hygiene supplies. The Ipixuna do Pará City Hall is responsible for distributing the baskets, which were purchased in the region itself.

“In line with our commitment to be a good neighbor for the communities where we operate, Hydro did not hesitate to help in seeing the situation in which the city finds itself. Hydro continues in dialogue with city and state authorities to continue supporting the local population ”, says Anderson Baranov, vice president of Government Relations at Hydro

The municipality was hit on February 16 by heavy rains that left hundreds of families homeless and displaced due to flooding and the breaking of bridges. The city hall decreed a State of Public Calamity. A section of the BR-010 highway was broken due to the volume of water.
