The Brazilian Mining Association

The Brazilian Mining Association (Instituto Brasileiro de Mineração – IBRAM) is a national entity that represents the companies and institutions working in the mining industry in Brazil. It is a private, non-profit association that aims to congregate, represent, promote and disclose the Brazilian mining industry, and to contribute to the industry’s national and international competitiveness. The Association also seeks to promote a sustainable development and better safety and occupational health practices in mining, by means of good practices, supporting studies, research, development, innovation and the use of the best available technologies.

Hydro’s Head of Public Affairs in Bauxite & Alumina, Anderson Baranov, is a board member in the organization. Hydro participates through Working Committees and Sector Group as appropriate. Financial contributions are given as ordinary membership fees.
