The World Banks Prototype Carbon Fund

Since its creation in 2000, the World Banks Prototype Carbon Fund has allocated resources to projects, mostly in developing countries, that lead to additional reduction of greenhouse gases. The fund was the first of its kind to be established in the world for generation carbon credits. As the fund was a pilot it has, through its activities, influenced the regulations for acquiring carbon credits that is administered by the UN.

Together with 26 other companies and governments, Hydro has a share in the fund. Director in Hydro's Climate Office, Liv Rathe, is representative in the fund's leading committee
