On August 22, 1916, the history of the aluminum site in Grevenbroich, Germany, began with the laying of the foundation stone for the Erftwerk smelter. Today, more than 2,000 employees carry on building the future of this location.

CNBC video interview: Hydro CFO Eivind Kallevik comments on Q2 2016 results
Hydro CFO Eivind Kallevik is a member of the CNBC Global CFO Council a group of chief financial officers from public and private companies. Following Hydro’s second quarter 2016 results, Kallevik comments on the decision to lift annual global aluminium demand growth forecast to 4-5 percent for 2016, up from previous forecast 3-4 percent.

Second quarter 2016: Results up on higher prices and sales, offset by currency
Hydro's underlying earnings before financial items and tax rose to NOK 1,618 million in the second quarter from NOK 1,501 million in the first quarter 2016. The improved results reflected higher realized aluminium and alumina prices and stronger sales volumes, partly offset by currency developments.
