For deliveries of standard sheets in alloy 1050 in the calendar month January 2013, the reworking price (plus LME quotation) is increased by 35 euros per ton or GBP 30 per ton, for standard sheets in alloy 5754 by 65 euros per ton. For longer-term delivery agreements, alternatively variable price elements or an additional security surcharge to cover further cost increases are possible.

"With this measure, we pass on costs to which we have no control," emphasizes Wolfgang Rempe, head of the General Engineering business unit. "It is our aim to supply Hydro's customers with our semi-finished products quickly and flexibly, even in a difficult market situation, and to help ensure that as little capital as possible is tied up across the entire supply chain."
