Hydro scores even better on Dow Jones sustainability index

Hydro scored high on the latest Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, which is recognized as the world’s most prestigious sustainability index.

Hydro scored 100 percent in Payment transparency and Environmental reporting, and above 90 percent on Materiality, Risk & crisis management, Codes of conduct/compliance/corruption & bribery, Water-related risks, Social reporting, Stakeholder management and Social impacts on communities.

“Also important is that we had the largest improvement within Talent attraction & retention, Labour Practice indicators & human rights, Social impacts on communities, Social reporting and Tax strategy,” says Kirsten Margrethe Hovi, Head of Extra-Financial Reporting.

Hydro improved its score within all the three main elements Economic (governance), Environment and Social. In the Economic and Social elements, Hydro is industry leader.

Last year, Hydro was not included in the world index, but remained on the DJSI Europe index and thus a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices. Hydro has been a component of the index series since its start in 1999.
