Hydro supplies aluminium for ‘The Giant’ – the world’s largest tent
We are proud to have supplied the aluminium for a true festival icon: ‘The Giant’, the largest marquee in the world. This spectacular structure made its debut at Paaspop 2025 in Schijndel and marks a new milestone in large-scale temporary structures.
A huge achievement
With impressive dimensions of 74 metres wide, 114 metres long and 25 metres high, The Giant can accommodate no fewer than 21,000 visitors. That is more than iconic venues such as the Ziggo Dome or Rotterdam Ahoy. The structure can also be extended to 100 by 200 metres, with a capacity for 40,000 people. Hydro’s aluminium profiles literally form the foundation of this unique achievement.

Why choose aluminium from Hydro?
Our aluminium combines lightweight properties with exceptional strength and weather resistance. This makes it ideal for large-scale, quick-to-assemble structures such as ‘The Giant’. The tent can withstand wind gusts of up to 100 km/h and meets the highest safety standards, even in extreme weather conditions. A testament to reliability, innovation and craftsmanship of which we at Hydro are proud.
Working together on future-proof solutions
The project was realised in close collaboration with marquee owner Gunther Willems, festival director Peter Sanders and BNL Tent Concept. Their ambition: a safe and future-proof main stage that exceeds all expectations. In just a few months, an idea became a reality.
From vision to icon
What began as an ambitious concept has now become a leading icon at festivals such as Paaspop and, soon, Pukkelpop, Extrema and more. Wherever ‘The Giant’ sets up shop, Hydro’s innovative spirit goes with it.
We are helping to shape the future of events.
