Hydro’s summer interns make the grade
Nearly 50 students have joined Hydro for their summer internships, standing out among many applicants.
Over 1,000 students applied for this year’s program in 2021, a reflection of how attractive the internships in Hydro are.
The interns are third- and fourth-year university students recruited to be placed in Hydro’s locations in Norway. They will spend eight weeks in different departments in Hydro, where they will experience and solve real tasks and challenges.
The program is kicked off with a four-day digital introduction week, followed by various social gatherings throughout the summer. At the end of the program in August, they will gather to present their case assignment.
The internship case assignment is given to all summer internship students over the course of their stay. The aim is to give our interns a holistic overview of Hydro, room for networking and knowledge sharing, and the opportunity to work on a real-time, strategic topic for Hydro.
This year, the summer interns will be giving their perspective on lithium-ion battery circularity.
The internship program is important for Hydro, as we can introduce promising young talents to our company. They also act as important ambassadors for Hydro among their peers.
