Australia

In Australia, Hydro is present with primary aluminium production and metal products operations

The primary metal plant in Kurri Kurri began operations in 1969. Hydro became owner of the plant through its 2002 acquisition of VAW aluminium AG.

Hydro closed the Kurri Kurri plant's remaining primary metal production in September 2012, and stopped producing casthouse products in October 2012.

Hydro is also part-owner of the primary aluminium plant Tomago Aluminium Company Pty Limited.
