Grete Faremo leaving Hydro board

Grete Faremo, who was named Minister of Defence in the Norwegian government on Tuesday, will resign from the Board of Directors of Norsk Hydro ASA with immediate effect.

Faremo has been on Hydro's Board of Directors since 2006 and has been deputy chair since November 2007.

Hydro's Nomination Committee will now begin the search for a new board member.

The nomination will then be considered by Hydro's Corporate Assembly.
