    Hydro Aluminium Komárom

    The Komárom plant in Hungary specializes in premium foundry alloys made from recycled aluminium. The annual production capacity is 60,000 tonnes.

    Originally opened in 2016 as part of the Polish aluminium recycling company Alumetal Group, Komárom is strategically located in the heart of Europe. Approximately 80 percent of its production output is supplied to European automotive customers.

    Alumetal was acquired by Hydro in 2023. Komarom and the other plants were rebranded as Hydro facilities in January 2026.

    Information for scrap suppliers

    Hydro’s aluminium recycling facilities in Kęty, Gorzyce, Nowa Sól, and Komarom (Hungary) purchase aluminium scrap and pure raw materials, offering optimal logistics for delivery. Upon arrival, qualified specialists perform a thorough quality analysis, including chemical composition and contamination levels.

    All types of aluminium scrap are accepted, including:

    • Primary and post-production scrap (sector, offset, sheets, profiles)
    • Castings
    • Shavings from alloys (226, 231, 233, AlSi7, AlSi11, series 7000, 6000, 5000)
    • Al wrought scrap
    • Al cans, rims, dross

    Copper, titanium, and zirconium scrap is also accepted.
